Short description

The overall purpose of this project is to implement and evaluate an education intervention of person-centred care described as a specific profile in a midwife education programme and its impact on care at the clinical practice sites in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Using an implementation research framework, the “MedMänniska-French” will be validated and culturally adapted. A new module will be developed in “MedMänniska-French” focusing on person-centred care of survivors after sexual violence. The impact of using a person-centered approach in the midwife education programme and in clinical practice will then be evaluated. The results from this international multidisciplinary project will contribute to developing a body of knowledge that will support and advance maternal and newborn health in a low-income francophone setting.
