Anders St氓hlberg, Wallenberg Center for Molecular and Translational Medicine and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, will be part of a new collaborative project to develop a chip for clinical use.
Through a grant from Medtech4health/Swelife/Vinnova, a collaborative project is now being started with the goal to develop a simple diagnostic chip for rapid mutation detection in cancer diagnostics using liquid biopsies. Mutations will be detected using CRISPR/Cas9 combined with advanced 2D material graphene. The chip can be plugged into a simple electronic readout device via a USB jack and is made of recyclable materials.
The project is coordinated by Ivan Mijakovic's lab at Chalmers and also includes an industrial partner.
