Current research projects

  • Economic abuse and parenting: A mixed-methods and multi-level study of prevalence, patterns, policy and practice (2027-2029) examines how economic abuse is experienced, conceptualised, and addressed at the micro, meso, and macro levels in Sweden. It analyses 1) the prevalence and experiences of economic abuse among parents before and after separation; 2) professional understandings and responses within child protection, financial aid, and family law; and 3) continuities and contradictions across these domains in relation to victims/survivors, legislation, and policy. A mixed-methods design is used, including a survey of separated parents, textual analysis of family court orders, and focus groups with social workers. The project is led by Linn茅a Bruno (PI), Stockholm University and is funded by FORTE with approx. 5 million SEK.
