I am a Doctoral Candidate in Social 91探花s with a specialisation in Educational 91探花 at the Department of Sociology and Work 91探花. In my doctoral dissertation, I critically explore the (im)possibilities of preschool teachers' work with gender inequalities in Swedish preschools. The dissertation is carried out through five articles that, based on the curriculum, position preschool teachers as leaders in interpreting the gender equality mandate and carrying out gender equality work, aiming to better understand what enables or constrains their efforts.
My educational background spans multiple disciplines. I hold an Associate鈥檚 Degree in Liberal Arts from San Antonio Community College, where I primarily focused on Journalism and Political 91探花. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where I double-majored in Sociology and Political 91探花. Additionally, I obtained a graduate degree from Gothenburg University through the International Master's Programme in Educational Research.
More broadly, my research interests include feminist methodologies, feminist theories, feminist movements, feminist politics, gender, racialisation, intersectionality, (un)paid labour (including occupations and professions), power relations and dynamics, anti-genderism, anti-feminism, post-feminism, contemporary critical theory, and gender (in)equalities.
I am a co-coordinator of the Feminist Seminar in Sociology (FEMSEM) at the department and the founder and co-coordinator of Gender and Intersectionality, a working group affiliated with Sveriges Sociologf枚rbund's conference, Sociologidagarna.
I have taught at various faculties and departments at the bachelor's and master's level. For instance, I have taught courses in the Preschool Teacher Programme (where I have also served as a course coordinator), the Primary Teacher Programme, the Psychology Programme, the Sociology Programme, and the European Studies Programme. Topics that I have taught include, for instance, gender, racialisation, norm critical pedagogy, feminist theory/politics/movements, policy analysis, interviewing and observation as a method. My teaching experience includes lectures, seminars, and workshops. Additionally, I supervise bachelor's theses across disciplines related to my research interests.
