About Lisbeth Aggestam

Presentation

Lisbeth Aggestam is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political 91̽ and an associated researcher at the Centre for European Research (CERGU) at the University 91̽.

Research

Aggestam works in the field of Foreign Policy Analysis and International Relations.

She is the editor-in-chief of the ISA journal, , published by Oxford University Press.

Her main research interests are:

  • political leadership and foreign policy
  • diaspora and foreign policy
  • foreign policy role theory
  • the European Union as a global actor.

Aggestam is Principal Investigator of the research project "Transnational Civil Society and Foreign Policy: The Role of Diasporas in Comparative Perspective,” funded by the Swedish Research Council (2022-2025).

Teaching

Aggestam convenes and teaches the following courses:

  • EU2215: Europe in the World (MA, 15 credits)
  • SK 1136: Foreign Policy Analysis (BA, 7.5 credits)
  • EU1145: The European Union in International Affairs (7.5 credits)
